Abstract:

Efficient distribution of service requests between fog and cloud nodes considering user mobility and fog nodes’ Overload is an important issue of fog computing. This paper proposes a heuristic method for task placement considering the mobility of users, aiming to serve a higher number of requested services and minimize their response time. This method introduces a formula to Overload prediction based on the entry-exit ratio of users and the estimated time required to perform current requests that are waiting in the queue of a fog node. Then, it provides a solution to avoid the predicted Overloading of fog nodes by sending all delay-tolerant requests in the Overloaded fog node’s queue to the cloud to reduce the time required for servicing delay-sensitive requests and to increase their acceptance rate. In addition, to prevent requests from being rejected when the mobile user leaves the coverage area of the current fog node, the requests in the current fog node’s queue will be transferred to the destination fog node. Simulation results indicate that the proposed method is effective in avoiding the Overloading of the fog nodes and outperforms the existing methods in terms of response time and acceptance rate.

Abstract:

Backgrounds: Situation awareness is an important factor in industrial accidents. Improving situation awareness may help to prevent occupational accidents. Determination of factors influencing situation awareness will help to plan and take measures for betterment of Working condition and development of a safer Workplace. In this study, we examined the role of Work Overload and job stress in predicting Work situation awareness among Workers. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study. A sample consisting of 180 employees in National Petrochemical Company in 2014 was selected using stratified random sampling method; the participants filled out the questionnaires containing questions on demography characteristics, Work situation awareness of Sneddon, Mearns & Flin (2013), Work Overload of Beehr, Walsh & Taber (1976), and job stress scale of Cohen and colleagues (1983).The data were analyzed by SPSS software using coefficient correlation and stepwise regression. Statistical differences were considered significant at P<0.001.Results: The results showed that there were internal correlation among Work Overload, job stress and Work situation awareness. Also, the results of stepwise regression analysis revealed that Work Overload and job stress significantly predicted, respectively, almost 11% and 35% of variances of Work situation awareness among Workers. Conclusion: Work Overload and job stress are two main factors for predicting Work situation awareness. To improve Workplace safety, interventional measures should focus on enhancing the situation awareness via Workload and job stress reduction.

Abstract:

Introduction: Hospital custody faces multiple occupational issues and, as a result, are more susceptible to psychological vulnerabilities than other employees. So they need more support. For this purpose, the present study with the focus on examining the Relation of Work Overload factors on Work consequences, with mediating variables, Social Support among medical team of Imam Reza Hospital, Urmia-Iran. Methods: The current research is a descriptive-analytic study of structural equation modeling. Population of the survey was 540 medical team members of Imam Reza hospital, from among them 200 members were selected as sample of the study by the use of random selection. Data collection tools that were used, were questionnaires on Work Overload (1982), Social Support (2006), Job Stress (2009), Job Motivation (2004), Job Satisfaction (2015), Job Performance (2014), Work Engagement and Turnover (2015) Intention. Their validity was confirmed through structural validity and reliability through Cronbach's alpha. Factor analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SPSS 22) and LISREL 8. 5 software were used to analyze the data and examine the relationships between variables and presenting the structural model. Results: The results show that variables of Work Overload have positive effect on positive Work Consequences with the mediating role of Social Support (β = 45. 85). Also variables of Work Overload factors have positive effect on Work Consequences with the mediating role of Social Support (β = 45. 85). Conclusions: Considering that social support has an inevitable effect on reducing occupational stress, as well as increasing satisfaction, performance, motivation and career aspiration, it is recommended that hospital authorities establish effective support systems in and out of Work environments as an effective method. In order to reduce stress and increase satisfaction, performance, motivation and career enthusiasm of the medical staff.

Abstract:

This research was carried out with the aim of studying the model of the effects of Work-family conflict, job dangers and role Overload on nurses’ performance. The statistical population included the female nurses and auxiliary nurses of three private clinics, from among whom 94 persons were selected on the basis of random stratified method. Research instruments consisted of: Lambert et al's (2007) Work-family conflict, job dangers, role Overload and organizational commitment questionnaires and ouyang's (2009) job involvement and performance questionnaires. The data which were gathered from research questionnaires were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient and structure equation modeling. The results of data analysis showed that: 1. there is a significant negative relationship between organizational commitment and Work-family conflict, but there are significant positive relationships between organizational commitment with job involvement and performance. 2. There is a significant positive relationship between role Overload with Work-family conflict. 3. Job dangers have a significant positive relationship with Work-family conflict. 4. Finally job involvement has a significant positive relationship with performance. 5. The results of structure equation modeling revealed that, firstly role Overload, job dangers and Work-family conflict weaken organizational commitment, then organizational commitment weakens job involvement and in the final step, organizational commitment and job involvement decrease nurses and auxiliary nurses’ performance.

Abstract:

With regard to the potential role of cognitions on various human feelings and behaviors, this research was conducted with the aim of studying the role of cognitive attribution of stress in association between Work Overload with alienation and deviant behaviors. One hundred and sixty eight employees of an industrial organization participated in this research. All participants were asked to complete the researcher made job stress attribution questionnaire (AJSQ), Work Overload questionnaire (WOQ), alienation questionnaire (WAQ), and deviant behaviors questionnaire (DBQ). Results showed that there was not a significant relationship between deviant behaviors and Work Overload, Work alienation, and job stress attribution. But there was a significant relationship between Work Overload and Work alienation and job stress attribution. Results of hierarchical regression analysis revealed that attributing the stress to the organization was moderated by the relationship between Work Overload with Work alienation. That is, when attributing stress to the organization is high, there is a negative relationship between Work Overload with Work alienation, but when attributing the stress to the organization is low, there is a positive relationship between Work Overload with Work alienation. Also attributing stress to self was moderated by the relationship between Work Overload with deviant behaviors. That is, when attributing stress to self is low, there is a positive relationship between Work Overload with deviant behaviors, but when attributing stress to self is high, there is a negative relationship between Work Overload with deviant behaviors.
